    Bait Shop Question

Gonna be driving through Thunder Bay from Mn to fish Nipigon Bay and maybe Black Bay in a couple of weeks. Is there a bait shop in Thunder Bay that is close to the Highway, is open at 10am on a Wednesday, and has Lake Superior legal frozen ciscoes, herring, or smelt for sale? What is the name of such a bait shop(s) if it exists? Thanks.

    Tips for rainbow fishing ?

Hey I am a newbie to rainbow fishing and looking to try it out this season. I know the typical egg sacks used for fishing but has anyone had luck with other tackle or bait set ups ? If so what have you used ? Also what and where would you recommend fishing on rivers slow swirling pools or in the main flow of the river ? Let me know any of your tips and tricks much appreciated !

    Forgotten bait shop!

I don't know if this is allowed, but we just stopped at Frosty's Baits in Shabaqua. Great bait, spring water is super cold and the bait looks really good. I totally forgot about this little place. Just had to give a shout out to a great little Shop. New owners too!
  9. I was wondering if it is legal for a professional bait trapper to place dozens of leech and minnow traps on a tiny (less than sq 1km surface area) stocked lake that I believe was once an experimental lake. Whoever it is/was placed probable a 100 traps all up the northern shoreline of Tuesday lake making it almost impossible to fish well at the same time without doubt severely damaging the fishery. As this lake is stocked yearly by the Ministry with tiny speckled trout fry. Keep in mind this was last year and I haven't gone back since because we didn't get so much as a nibble, but this was at one time one of my favorite lakes as I remember a ministry biologist turned me onto it when I ran into him well prospecting in the area and I remember waiting for this lake to become open to the public for fishing and to have it just destroyed for bait is maddening especially when it is not necessary what so ever because there are millions of places to trap bait up the Spruce river road and area. Any response to this would be greatly appreciated and maybe this man is well within his rights to do this but I will tell that is not appreciated and if I know who was responsible I would boycott for life Thank You Sincerely for your time

  11. What's everyone's thoughts on all this rain and how or what it will affect our fishing this year? Is it going to be good for the rivers to bring up levels? I see alot of trees flowing down the rivers in town. What are the smaller in-land lakes looking like? Is all his rain good or bad?
