  1. Hi everyone, I thought I would take a moment to share the boat we found to suit our family needs. It is a fish and ski so it transforms from a ski/pleasure boat to a fishing boat complete with front and back pedestals, trolling motor and a live well. Installed a Marine radio, just need to get some better electronics with Navionics to avoid those pesky rocks lol. Trying to decide between a Humminbird Helix or Lowrance Elite Ti. I like both but love the fact that the Lowrance has an option to show vegetation as a different colour than the fish. I have attached some pics of the boat as well as a demo screen shot of what the Lowrance shows.
  2. Hello. My apologies for not posting often enough on this forum although i do lurk regularly. I just purchased a 16' aluminum boat to get ready for spring/summer. The boat didn't come with a motor. It is a regular ol' silver aluminum deep and wide boat on a trailer. I need to pick up a motor for it. I'm wondering what size of outboard motor would be good for a boat this size? I'll be going on Arrow Lake which can get really rough so I don't want something too small but then again I don't need a speed demon either. Just lookign for something just right. Would a 20hp do it? i also assume I'll need a long-shaft? Thanks for your help!
