Nice one caught today

I will be in Thunder Bay for a meeting in a couple weeks. I was thinking about staying the weekend and fishing in the stocked trout lakes in the area. Does anyone have experience with these lakes? Most have speckled trout, some have splake. Is access usually fairly simple, do they generally have spots to fish from shore? Just wondering if it would be worth the effort. Thanks.

Caught a couple "off colored trout" this past summer that I would at first glance identify as 9" brookies. In checking the stocked lake pamphlet it appears that splake are stocked in this particular lake and that brookies have also been caught. I am told that the difference is very subtle and even the tail on such a small fish may or may not reveal an identifiable or pronounced fork. Are they that similar?????
