"Hump"day fishing report

Recommended Posts

Guest Ol Big Moose

Well as I've posted before I have a serious disease thats called fishitis (addicted to fishing). So I made my way out to whitefish again on wednesday to see what happens. Drove thru the peasoup fog and got out to the lake while it was still dark, drove around the lake aimlessly lost with 50 feet of visibility and no visible landmarks to go by. Once we had a little bit of light decided to walk out as my buddy still doesnt trust the ice(even after 3 days of seeing trucks back and forth on the ice) which is fine it is his truck after all. Peppered the ice with holes and got set up,pulled in perch after perch and a few really small walleyes in the afternoon but once the clouds turned from dark grey to black the bite picked up considerably. After an hour or so of dark fishing we decided to pack it in. Walked to the last line to pull up and just as I got there it gets slammed by a delicious 24"walleye. Now I just hope she holds out tied to the ice til sunday afternoon.
