Guest MNR Report post Posted March 31, 2012 Utliity vehicles are descibed in Ont. Reg. 863 Section 3 (1.2) of the Off Road Vehicle Act. Under the Off Road Vehicle Act, Section 3 (1) speaks to registration and Section 15(1) lays out the requirements for insurance, Because they're "off road vehicles" you are also required to wear a helmet anywhere but you're own property.Utility vehicles (6x6 or 8x8) are not allowed on a highway unless they are bein driven directly across a highway or being used by a farmer for agricultural purposes or by a licensed trapper for trapping purposes.( the Highway Traffic Act has a very broad definition for what a highway is).“highway”, includes a common and public highway, street, avenue, parkway, driveway, square, place, bridge, viaduct or trestle, any part of which is intended for or used by the general public for the passage of vehicles and includes the area between the lateral property lines thereof; (“route”)
