bwkre 11 Report post Posted May 13, 2012 I've read the rules & regulations for Sleeping Giant Prov Park and they state that motorboats are banned in all park lakes other than Lake Marie Louise. Would this include the use of an electric trolling motor in Pounsford Lake? Or is the intent to eliminate combustion engine use similar to the rules of Hazelwood Lake? Thanks in advance. Guest MNR Report post Posted May 15, 2012 Under Ontario Regulation 347/07, “No person shall operate a power boat in a provincial park”. The regulation goes on to say that there are some lakes in some parks where you can operate a power boat. In Sleeping Giant Provincial Park, the only exception is Marie Louise Lake if the boat has an engine rating not exceeding 10 horsepower. The regulation defines a powerboat as a boat that is propelled by electric, gasoline, fuel oil or steam motive power. If in doubt, its always best to call the park to find out.
