is a bow livewell a bad idea? can it be detrimental to fish getting pounded and such. looking at a lund predator 1810.

When the well is filled the water will protect the fish with no worries. Fill a 5 gal pail of water and submerge or float an object in it. Slosh the pail around and you will see that the objects in the pail don't go crashing from side to side as the object has to displace the water first. Many boats, like mine, have 2 livewells and it usually becomes a weight preference over which one to use...or whether one is aerated or recirculated. I prefer my aft livewell because my boat seems to trim better, especially with 30 gal of gas in it. Nice looking boats those Lund Predators!

When I'm fishing alone I fill my bow livewell for ballast and to slam through rough seas....seems a lot smoother with 200 lbs of water up front
