Good luck.

Compared to other seasons, have you noticed any difference in deer traffic/patterns/sightings considering weather?

Nice tall 8pt at the end of the driveway this morning in the dark. Antlers pretty red must have just shed the velvet. Hope to get out when back in town in a few weeks.\\

Wonder how the urban hunt is going?

Jay

Is it safe to say that entire "urban" hunting zone is all private property?

Spent two nights in the stand, seen one mid size buck (no velvet). No clean shot, had him at 20 yards, but wasn't shooting unless I had a good shot. Been lots of tracks and a few pics on the cameras - lots of night time visitors...

Hoping to bag a deer before Moose Archery!

Good Luck out there.

@hardcorefishn, Any noticeable difference in the amount of predators caught on cam this year compared to last year?

milspec - no pics of predators (other than a couple bears). Actually haven't seen or heard any in a while, which is odd as we've had higher numbers of them in the past couple years.

Still haven't bagged a deer with the bow yet - but Moose opener is fast approaching.

Posted this on the hunting page but I set out this year to get a buck in velvet, was watching a nice 10 pointer who was in velvet several days before the season opening (september 1st). Had an opportunity at him opening evening but he had shed his velvet, boobed my first opportunity but connected the evening of September 5th antlers still had some velvet and dried blood and were fairly light colored.

Tree stand 18 yards shot, evening hunt, had an eight pointer still in velvet in fornt of me, held off knowing this guy was around(having seen him 4 days earlier). He showed up to run the smaller buck away and got an arrow for his efforts. 197 lbs dressed weight

I was out grouse hunting this morning, stumbled across a massive rub (well first one I've ever seen in person, I was really excited) it was about 5 and half feet up the tree, the tree itself was about the same diameter as a 2L bottle of pop. Fresh droppings all over the ground. I decided to leave the area quietly. As I did, I came across 2 fresh scrapes. Its amazing how the edges of differing vegetation will develop some interesting trails and signs.

i missed on a nice buck today, dude snort wheezed twice before coming in closer. saw him at 80 yds day light ending walking towards me, lost sight of my yardage markers in low light. was sure he was standing a foot behind my 50yd marker when he dropped his head , but apparently he was behind the 60, Complete miss!!. He didnt jump the string though, he stood still for a second after shot.
