Hurketthunter 65 Report post Posted September 18, 2012 Don't have an axis but my wife shoots a tikka t3 in 7mm-08 and really likes it. Very accurate with 140gr rounds and if she ever has the ambition to hunt an adult moose you can get nosler partitions as well.
CharlieAlphaLimaEcho 0 Report post Posted September 21, 2012 I had a Savage Model 14 in 7mm-08 and loved it. Used with Hornady GMX superformance 139 gr. with awesome results on my first buck out to approximately 200 +/- yards. Couldn't believe the accuracy, and I wouldn't hesitate to shoot a calf with it. Traded it for the Ruger Gunsite for all the extra ammo options and because I wanted something stainless; didn't hurt that it was so unique either haha. Good luck on your season! Guest PEte A Report post Posted November 9, 2012 Hey Jay,That is exactly the same set-up that I bought for my wife. Been hand-loading up some 140 gr Barnes TTSX, which perform superbly on large game like moose. She's shooting really well at the range, but hasn't pulled the trigger on an animal yet.PEte
