Fishbum 35 Report post Posted June 17, 2013 Hey. Quick question. A treble hook is classified as a single barbless hook correct ? So if the regs say you are only able to use a single barbless hook ... Does that mean a rapala with say two trebles on it even if all barbs are pinched would still be illegal to use ? So basically raps and cranks would be illegal. ? Thanks
Guest MNR Report post Posted July 18, 2013 You are correct. A single hook is considered a hook and a treble hook is considered a single hook (because of the common shaft). When you have 3 treble hooks on a Rapala, you have 3 hooks. If you're fishing in an zone or lake where only single barbless hooks can be used (Lake Nipigon eg) only one treble hook can be attached to the lure or line.
