Pro fisherman-Stud Muffin 420 Report post Posted July 25, 2013 huh? i think it has stator, for ignition, so that 3 prong may be to run lights on boat. i forget how many coils on a stator equals what for voltage? there is some math nerd formula.it wont be 12vdc, ACOlder boats had ac lights? i remember hearing about this but have since forgotten Quote 2016 Dog Lake Open Champion. Adrian 132 Report post Posted July 26, 2013 I believe it is 12v AC. It is for running boat lights. Nothing to change on your lights - the bulbs dont care if they are AC or DC. There were a number of older Johnsons and Evinrudes that had 12 v ac plug ins on them.
