What's the rules of finding a dead fox (road kill) do I still need to have a fur bearing licenses and have to take the whole pelt if I want the tail? And what is the official rules please. Thanks

To legally be in possession of a red fox (or any part of a red fox) you do need some paperwork. Red fox are classed as “fur bearers” can be taken either with a trapping licence or a small game licence. You could receive a fox from either a trapper or hunter. (the paperwork here is your licence)

If you picked up a road killed animal you still need paperwork.

The Ministry of Natural Resources is streamlining its approvals processes for natural resource-related activities – with the goal of providing individuals and businesses with faster and more efficient service delivery. The ministry has worked closely with stakeholders and members of the public to modernize the way approvals are managed and to develop a registration process that is available online.
