fishing with a native

When im fishing with a native in my boat i know i have to follow limits and slot sizes. I do have my fishing license too. What about the native. Does he/she need a license when fishing with me and such? How does that work as I dont want a fine or a hassle on the lake. I follow the rules and want to keep it that way

Your friend is exercising their right to fish based on their heritage and any treaty that their band may belong to. You are fishing under the authority of a fishing licence. You can’t help your friend exercise their right to fish and they can’t fill your limit.

Your friend should be familiar with the boundaries of any treaty or traditional area and be able to show an officer that they belong to a band or group associated with the area or have permission from a band in that area to harvest fish or game.
