Guest ofnsve Report post Posted August 7, 2007 I fish with a 15 yr old, 12 yr old and a 10 yr old. I know that you don't have to purchase a license until you are 18 yrs old, but was wondering what the limits were for fishing for them. Do they follow conservation, sport or some other regulation? Thanks in advance for any help. Blain
wicabel246 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2007 My understanding is that they each have their own limit. That woukld be the same as you and I with a regular fishing licence.

Some Old Guy 968 Report post Posted August 13, 2007 Residents of Canada (persons whose primary residence is in Canada and who have lived in Canada for a period of at least six consecutive months during the 12 months immediately proceeding the matter coming into question) who are under 18 years of age or 65 years of age or older are not required to obtain a fishing licence in order to fish. Those who qualify to fish without purchasing a fishing licence may fish with the same catch and possession limits as holders of a resident sport fishing licence. Along the same vein, there is no provision in the fishing regulations to allow ?party fishing?. You cannot fill another person?s limit. An adult can assist a child in baiting hooks and casting but the child must be old enough to be physically able to angle on their own. The MNR encourages young people to get out and enjoy the sport of fishing. Ross Johnston Community Liaison Conservation Officer Suite B001, 435 S.
