What's the proper way to buy arrows and what's good out there been a long time since I bought arrows. Any ideas out there? The arrows I got now wouldn't be good for deer I've just been using them for hitting the bag. Thanks

Im new to archery but from the dozen arrows i picked up last year, i believe it depends on what type of bow you're shooting (compound/traditional), draw weight/length.. preference over wood, aluminum or carbon fibre shafts, etc… there are a bunch of companies that make a good arrow shaft, Easton, Carbon Express, Gold Tip just to name a few… head down to a local archery shop with your bow and I'm sure they'll be able to help you out.

Depends on your draw length and weight. Go down to D&R or other archery shop and they should be able to get you started. When you get some make sure they are cut at a minimum of 1" in front of your arrow shelf. And with carbon arrows always flex them before you shoot. Listen for cracking noises and inspect them for cracks. People have shot damaged carbon arrows only to have them break at the release and go through their hand. Better to be safe then sorry.
