this martin fly reel seems different then the aluminum shaksphere I put on my rod. has anyone used one of these?

It's pretty much just a different style. It looks like more of a traditional style. Put one of those on a nice old glass rod and you'll have a pretty neat set up!

i have a few - literally from the 70's.



Every serious steelhead guy on the north shore used to load a 72 with 10-12lb maxima and strip and flip.


Classic reel, pretty heavy.



Make for good paper weights in the garage!
