Accidental laker on the fly.

Went to northern lights the other day, noticed fish were busting on minnows on the surface. Tossed out some go to "baitfish" patterns and had an awesome day on pike and bass. End of the day, close to the launch I wanted to hit a notoriously good bass spot, a reef with weeds all around.(you can throw a rock at it from the launch) couple casts to the rocks and pulled this guy out of 11 FOW on a 2" minnow pattern. I thought I was hooked up to a nice pike, the fight was epic! Quick picture and thrown right back(out of season). But man... The runs that this fish had were amazing. For such a scraggly looking fish!

Go barbs deep!

That reef gives up some good fish usually.

Love that reef. Some big gators around there.

That fish was much bigger at some point by the look of the head and the skinny body. Probably having trouble finding/catching food. Sick catch!
