I'm surprised this thread doesn't exist yet.

What's the word on the ice conditions?

I don't have confirmation of this, but last I heard people were walking on sawmill...

With this weather coming up, could it be that shacks will be out before Dec???

Going out there tomorrow to make sure shack is jacked up enough. Will ask Gary if anyone has told him anything. Not interested in getting my feet wet though. Not sure if anyone heard but Gary wants $300 for fees this year.

I was out there a month or so ago, and lots of shacks weren't up high enough... good idea to get out there early before snowfalls and then more ice forms around the shacks.

My shack(a little 8x12) sunk 8+ inches over the summer. Gary said it was really wet out there this summer.

Yes someone went out. But bad choice for sure. I went out today with my truck and sauna. Bad choice last nites wind caused a bunch of cracks all the way to sand point. I was driving along till i hit a crack a looked back and watched my sauna sink 5 inches. Barely got out. The way back wasnt too bad took it slow.

I talked to Gary last Thursday and at that time there was 8" of ice, but he wasn't letting trucks or huts on until there was 12". He did say he would allow sleds or bikes on from his launch. There was fresh snow on the ground and no evidence of anyone pulling a shack out from Gary's that I could see. I suspect this coming weekend it should be good to go....

I was 60 clicks up the Dog River Road today. The side roads had from 7 to 10 inches of snow.

Some weight in the back of the pickup and 4x4 was needed to travel the side roads comfortably.

Main haul roads were plowed.
