Hey guys

Just wondering if anyone has arrowed a buck in velvet during the early sept 1 season.? I've had pictures of deer in velvet up to sept 5th in the past. Just curious if anyone targets them.

Or more importantly, strategies on how to target them? I can't see artificial food sorces working with all the Bears we have

Really windy days are best times from my observations they seem to get up early , we saw 4 or 5 in velvet this year all during really windy hot afternoons . We Tagged 2.

You have to find their home area, they have totally different habits and to hunt early season bucks you need to be intimate with their moments and have correct stand placement and wait them out. Best eating bucks I have ever harvested came September 5 and September 8th

Wow guys. Awsome!

I only hunt crown land, its a fairly large area

4km x 4km. I'm planning on multiple set ups in funnels and saddles. How far have you guys observed bucks moving in aug/sept? I don't want to over kill on tree stands and cameras.(because I lose at least 3yr to theives)

Id like to be out tomorrow but it's so damn hot this week...and, nothing really showing up on my go to stand yet either. It's done me well over the past few years so we'll see what happens in the coming months. Trying another set up this year as well, time will tell.
