Heading out to passlake for some splake tomo just wondering how the thick the ice is. And how the bite as been!

Ended up breaking my auger first hole. Drilled. So we packed it up nd went to see Gary at black bay.

Was there today with my friend found a bag of minnows by a hole frozen into the lake,amazing it can be brought in but can't be brought out.

Was there Tuesday. Fishing was slow managed a few perch nd lost a few trout. All nd all a good day. Also seen a few minow bags floating around picked them up when cleaning up at the end of the day.

Perch were hitting hard and plentiful. One small pike and no splake. I've always fished in 18-25 fow. Maybe I should try shallower next time

Oh ya just about lost a rod too. No warning just gone. Lucky the line tangled on the rod holder as it was the only thing to save it from disappearing

I kept 8 and they were mostly at least 10inchers. But tossed back a lot of little ones

If you fish shallower (like under 5 FOW) you will get into some schools of 8" splake. Good if there is no other action lol.

Fished pass lake yesterday fished for 6 hours by big rock 2 splake 8"long 4 pike and 15ish perch threw everything back.

It's shallow back in there. In the past I caught some nice splake by the cliffs just to the left of that area.
