Benji 67 Report post Posted March 5, 2015 Head towards Oliver lake but stop at the driveway BEFORE the fire hall go down it ... Don't go straight ... Go left up a path type thing android should end up at a bay or something ... Haven't gone down the path .... Or take the long confusing path behind the firehall to the lake ... Benji 67 Report post Posted March 5, 2015 So grandpa said yes to going depending on how he's feeling after chemo .... Any ideas for bait ? I have a little whippet ice rod with 2 lb test line ... Should that be good for the average fish there?
McGinnis_Fishing 49 Report post Posted March 6, 2015 Yes that rod woll work fine. Typically i jig woth worm and have a set line with a small/medium minnow. Usualy the set lines get more action though. Liver even works good and cheap at the grocery store

McGinnis_Fishing 49 Report post Posted March 12, 2015 I took my 5 year old nephew out icefishing for his forst real trip. We didnt land any fish but we saw them on the flasher all day long and probably missed 6-8 fish trying to pass him the rod. The purpose of going was to let him catch some fish so we tried but as soon as we tried passing the rod the fish was gone. But none the less we had steady action all day and he had a blast! Hopefully get him out 1 more time before ice out.
Guest Wetlinetightline Report post Posted March 12, 2015 Still lots of ice. I'd say at least another month of safe fishing left
brookiebuster 117 Report post Posted March 12, 2015 Still safe. Just going to be slushy but should be plenty of ice for a while. Quote "Whack em' and stack em',kill em' and grill em'" Ted Nugent
