I forgot about marina park. I usually play around with the pike in the duck pond with my spinning rod. Might have to go see if the ice is gone yet

looks good, somethings going to eat that for sure

DNR has some big rear end green perch/frog style streamers that are killer for early pike.

Check them out. That or even some big white and with red streamers.

Cast them out, strip em in and hang on.

They are easier to cast than spun bodies.

Good luck, post pix if you hook up

Make them Big,Ugly, and Bright and don't waste more than 5 minutes on making them, it's a waste. Yak hair make great northern flies!

There's no issue casting these. I also enjoy tying the spun stuff .

I'm finally gonna get a chance to go down to the marina with the fly rod tonight. Hope there's some big gators cruising around

Probably around 6ish. If you need a good laugh at someone learning to cast come on out

Had one pike follow at the marina last night and hooked one at the mouth of current river. Didn't land it but with my not so great casting I was happy that I was doing something right

As long as you're getting your fly out to where you want it without any tangles you're doing fine in my opinion.

Right on. I went and trolled the breakwall and missed one fish on a rap.
