mooboy76 4 Report post Posted August 17, 2015 I don't have pics with me to post, but I am mostly seeing does with the odd buck coming through. Last year I saw a lot of activity, which promptly shifted to 11pm-4AM once season opened. Quote CSSA Member CCFR Member

Nnev 70 Report post Posted September 8, 2015 If you don't mind me asking. What are you looking for when you set up to catch those velvets running around during daylight? Did you find their bedding grounds?
Gwhunter99 17 Report post Posted September 9, 2015 Food and bed is the key and zero pressure in that area. That being said I have to go further north to get the sept 1 opener. Good luck Nnev
Nnev 70 Report post Posted September 10, 2015 Zero pressure is tough on crown land... You have a special spot on your hands... all i have is does, fawns and bears.
mooboy76 4 Report post Posted September 10, 2015 My deer disappeared, probably due to the bear that comes around instead. A few coyotes and raccoons visiting too. Quote CSSA Member CCFR Member
The_Outdoorsman 33 Report post Posted September 15, 2015 not a trail cam pic but found this yesterday... tips were broken off and there was no carcass nearby. hopefully there are more guys like this still out there.
Nnev 70 Report post Posted September 15, 2015 My deer disappeared, probably due to the bear that comes around instead. A few coyotes and raccoons visiting too. After a few weeks of deer coming by multiple times a day I went to check the cam and reload my feed pile with the 5 gallon pails I stashed in the bush to find someone had stolen my feed. The cam caught a bear struggling with a pale in his mouth and dragging it away... and a full week of no deer...

The cam caught a bear struggling with a pale in his mouth and dragging it away... and a full week of no deer... LMAO Damn bears will get anything not bolted down. My FIL used to run a resort and guide bear hunts. He has some funny stories from feeding, both in person and form cameras. Bears are far more agile, delicate and strategic then people realize. My cam farthest from my house has a bear that intermittently shows up for a little snack. I can't leave anything down there but a small amount of feed daily or he becomes a regular. I had some early views of some decent bucks but they were one hit wonders, never saw them on cam again. Quote The Great Outdoors
mooboy76 4 Report post Posted September 18, 2015 My deer disappeared, probably due to the bear that comes around instead. A few coyotes and raccoons visiting too. Make that no deer, and no bears, and the raccoons are ignoring the food. Must be a bumper year for forage, or they are all getting chased away by the army of chipmunks that is eating all the food. Also, despite reading stories to the contrary, the deer won't touch any pelleted beet pulp that I put in the mix. Regional tastes I guess. Dirttracker18 26 Report post Posted September 18, 2015 I agree, too much food right now everywhere. My usual count is way down but that will change as fall final arrives. They are travelling through but not coming back or staying. Soon though Quote The Great Outdoors
Nnev 70 Report post Posted September 21, 2015 I've found in the past they don't bother with food until all the leaves drop. I still drop a handful of grain regardless.
