MNR question - can I take a licensed hunter with my gun that does not have his PAL yet?

My friend sent his PAL application in months ago and it looks like it is being delayed (a few friends had stated the same issue with length of time for approval). We both have tags for the upcoming moose season and I have a few rifles, is it okay for me to carry my rifle and he to bring another one of my rifles if we are at arms length?

Next year we won't have this issue but I want to make sure we stay legal.

Thank you

I can't answer objectively but I was having this conversation with a friend of mine recently. He does not have his PAL but he hunts with his father who does. He was very insistent that this was legit.

To hunt legally in Canada, all that is required of you is to complete the CORE Hunter Education course and obtain your Fish & Wildlife ID (FWID). Meaning you can hunt with a firearm, without a license, as long as you're under the direct supervision of a hunting buddy who does have a valid PAL.

You can shoot a gun without a firearms license as long as you are under the direct supervision of an adult 18 years or older who has a firearms license for the category of the firearms you wish to shoot.
