Foozer 194 Report post Posted August 2, 2016 I checked first thing Monday morning. The phone line was busy so I went online. Looks like we got something to chase this October. A Bull in 15B for us. Who else got something? Quote Since we can not call female anglers "fisherman" We should just call 'em hookers.....

Congrats on a tag in 13. We had a golden ticket for a bull there last year and it only took till the Wednesday of opening week to fill. Good luck. Porkchop21 34 Report post Posted August 2, 2016 Does anyone know if it's possible to "give back" a tag we got this year in order to get it next year? We got 3 tags this year and was hoping we could sacrifice 1 for next year.
RatherBeFishin 86 Report post Posted August 2, 2016 Not that i have ever heard of. Thats why i usually do groups to avoid that !

RatherBeFishin 86 Report post Posted August 2, 2016 For the people that i know most have got tags and applied as a single or a group of two or three max. Ever since the tag numbers dropped my group of 3 is doing great. We had a bull tag in 12b last year for three of us. Then this year with two a cow in 13. Less moose hunters throughout the season in the bush to. Not sure if the success is due to many hunters dropping out all together or what ?
walleyslayer 3 Report post Posted August 3, 2016 We applied for bull with 7 people in 12b. No tags
RatherBeFishin 86 Report post Posted August 3, 2016 I know of singles who got tags in 15b and groups who applied in 15b and didnt get a tag. How does that even work ....?

Pro fisherman-Stud Muffin 420 Report post Posted August 3, 2016 the draw does guranteed group size first.. those all get tags. then large group allocation. so if 100 tags remain after GG size. and there are 50 groups of 8 and 52 groups of 7 . all groups of 8 get a tag and . then it goes to an individual random draw since they cant give every group of 7 a tag. so at that point a group of 3 or even a single can get a tag before a group of 7 not as likley to happen but it does. once a group memeber is drawn. the other members are removed from the draw. 1 Quote 2016 Dog Lake Open Champion. Jayfishin 63 Report post Posted August 4, 2016 That's how they say it's supposed to work but it seems a few errors still happen.

I understand what you are saying there, but your example only works if there are less than 36 hunters applying outside of those 7 & 8 sized groups. It might be clearer to go step by step. 1)There are 92 bull tags available in 12b, five get removed to reserve for Northern Draw, leaving 87 2) Pretend there are 5 groups withe 13+ applicants---these all get a tag 3) There are now 82 tags available for large group calculation Let's say there are 10 groups of 9 (90), 14 groups of 8 (112), 20 groups of 7 (140), 15 groups of 6, (90) 25 groups of 3 (75), and 140 individuals. Total hunters for the calculation is 647 applying for 82 tags. Ratio of Hunters to tags is 7.89, so the large group size is 8+ All 10 groups of 9, and 14 groups of 8 get a tag Now there are 58 tags and 445 hunters left. At this point, all group members and individual applicants are tossed into the hat and the random draw starts. Each person has about a 13% (almost 1 in 8) chance of getting chosen in this example, until the draw actually starts and groups start getting removed. Ha, maybe that's not clearer after all. Thefishleclair 175 Report post Posted August 9, 2016 Our Group (6) all applied single for the last 2 years and 1 of us always draws a tag, the 1 year we applied as a full group we got a tag and the 3 years before that were single draws and successful as well......We will keep applying single as the Garunteed group size is way to big for us. arvey 154 Report post Posted August 11, 2016 lets face it the draw is a joke and is not based on conservation of the animal, it's based on brining in money. when a group of say ten decide that there's too many to share 1 moose so they apply as individuals and get 5 tags in the same area and they all hunt together . now and instead of 1 tag they have 5 . how is that conservation of the animal and party hunt at the same time ? al
tomtom 0 Report post Posted August 15, 2016 I got a letter stating that I was successful in the northern resident draw and to confirm my address then mail the letter for the Mnr to send me my tag, has anyone got this letter before
Dirttracker18 26 Report post Posted August 16, 2016 Our group (8) got a Bull in 15b. That group number is deceiving as there are 3 husband/wife pairs in that number. On another note, my wife and I received our deer tags in the mail and then got a phone call from the ministry that Canada Post bounced our moose tags back as undeliverable. Exact same address on the deer and moose tags and correct. The MNR said they would toss them back in the mail and see what happens. Nice job Canada Post Quote The Great Outdoors
