Sauron 14 Report post Posted March 16, 2017 I used the tips here for trying to catch lake trout. I was out with my brother in law and his wife. We went to northern lights lake. We set up in 70 feet of water. I started using my flasher and was jigging at 20 feet down. It was hard to stay there as the old temptation of jigging near the bottom was almost overwhelming. 10 minutes latter a fish appeared at around 35 feet and made a b line towards my tube. He almost got there when another one smashed it from the side!! That was amazing. This trout is my biggest to date ice fishing at 11 pounds. We all went on to catch fish high up. I was skeptical at first but this is how I will start off all the time. We also got three whitefish high up. Amazing advice and much appreciated. Anyone else use the advice? Thank you all!!
