Looks like we got back from the Island just in time. Went Cod fishing with my Grandson in Twillingate Newfoundland. They were not Atlantic Salmon, but still pulling a 10lb Cod from 160ft is a good workout, especially for an 11 yr old who never fished anything bigger than a pond. It was grand fun. Looks like some very nice catches of salmon, my son and I are going out to pick one or two for a good BBQ.

Some are doing ok, some days are better than others, but overall it has not been that good,  when the landing is covered in carcasses, then they are in.

Haha I was waiting for somebody to give me a jab! Ive found that for the most part everyone is pretty good out there as far as boating/fishing courtesy. Theres usually only one or two bozos. Example: large boat traffic staggered nicely trolling up river, and one guy decidedto troll down river between all catching 2-3 lines on Almost everybodys boat! Saw that mess two years ago, missed me and I continued putting along as the onslaught of cursing and fighting happened behind me and landed a fish right after. Even high traffic wouldnt keep me away from there! Tight lines out there everybody!

August in wawa run mostly flashers and flies. Do change to spoons also. Try to find what they want. Most times then not it's green on green. Green flasher green fly. One night changed one too spoon and got one. Ended up changing all to spoons did well as they wanted spoons that evening.

It was busy Saturday morning.  We had a couple of solid strikes but never got anything close to the boat. A few jumpers. We did however catch a pretty decent Walleye. almost 30 inches. Took picture and let it go. I did see a number of Walleye caught that morning. Hopefully the salmon will be as plentiful. Heading out today for a couple of hours, to see if things improved.

Has anyone had any luck over the past couple days in nipigon? Was thinking of trying tomorrow if it's worth it. Thanks
