hookset 18 Report post Posted August 2, 2017 Going in land laker fishing next week. Looking for tips on what to use and how to fish. Did okay on weekend with mid sized spoons and mini down riggers in the 60-40' depth with the down riggers set at 25'. I also want to try jigging them with a tube jig. Would I be wasting my time jigging and should I just stick to spoons?
speckmaster 114 Report post Posted August 2, 2017 I prefer pulling spoons with downriggers around 25-40 in water 50-80 feet. We have had our best luck by far first thing in the am.
Zackcorbin1401 536 Report post Posted August 2, 2017 I've done well using trip-z divers with Williams warblers about 30-40 ft down. I have caught some jigging Mmjj jig flies aswell
Wopfisher 58 Report post Posted August 2, 2017 I usually use a 3/8 oz minnow head jig with a 3.5" powerbait tubejig I've had pretty good luck with that setup I also find if you make the fish chase your tube it's a lot more effective
