Some Old Guy 968 Report post Posted December 8, 2017 I know this isn't outdoors related but I just wanted to give everyone a heads up. Bed bugs are becoming very prevalent in Thunder Bay. There are many cases that are pretty severe, too. Many and I mean way too many people turn to the internet and look up how to get rid of bed bugs. The "self" treat methods rarely work. And when they do work is when you catch the early stage of an infestation. All these "How to get rid of bed bugs in one easy treatment" is only there so you will click and go to their website and hopefully click on an ad. Along with the many cases of bed bugs come the new companies that will offer quick and easy solutions. Much the same as when we had that hail storm a few years ago and everybody with a half ton and a ladder became a roofer. Call a reputable company. Don't get duped into someone buying heaters and telling you that they will get rid of your bugs. Using heat is only part of the tool box to get rid of bed bugs. So with all this being said, some of you know that I am a licenced structural technician. I work as an exterminator and deal with bed bugs every single day. There are licenced pest control companies in Thunder Bay. Call them! (I'm not going to say which company I work for so this doesn't turn into an advertisement! haha) I'll be adding more to this. If you have any questions you can ask here or pm me. Roger Quote R.T.R. Respect the resource!

Some Old Guy 968 Report post Posted January 6, 2018 I have a few things to add: Two times now when I have been standing in line to get a coffee I have seen bed bugs crawling on the person in front of me.......... This is when we get busy. Main reason, and this is just my opinion, is when you go to a house party, where does your jacket go? Yep you got it, on the bed with every other jacket! So, public transportation, casinos, theaters, clothing store change rooms, the floor models of furniture and food courts, I avoid!! Roger Quote R.T.R. Respect the resource! Some Old Guy 968 Report post Posted January 6, 2018 An adult female bed bug will emit a pheromone to let the males know that she wants to be bred. The males all gang up on her. Traumatic impregnation is the most effective in the bed bug world. She gets enough sperm to lay 1-6 eggs per day. Even though she is impregnated the males won't leave her alone so the female is the one who usually wanders off, like in your suitcase, purse, jacket, etc. So you bring her home and she lays one to six eggs per day. The all hatch and brother and sisters are makin' babies! That's how you get to this point. Roger Quote R.T.R. Respect the resource!
