Ice Fishing on Family Day

Recommended Posts

Bobber Down

With Family Day coming up there will be ice fishing taking place at the waterfront/marina area put on by the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters. I assume they will be drilling the holes. Will be interesting to see if anyone catches a Walleye but I think most catches will be Northern Pike. Anyone know how the ice fishing thing works. Like, can someone get a couple holes drilled and fish all day or is there a time limit of sorts? Anyone participate in the past?

Sorry can’t answer your question but this is related to the weekend. It’s one of two occasions where fishing licenses aren’t needed so try to get anyone out on the weekend ya can!

Don' you have to get permission from the Harbour Master to be on the ice at Marina Park.

Looks like a few tried. It was located in the pond/fountain area. I wouldn't think any pike stay there in the winter. The water under the bridge is shallow. Most likely frozen to the bottom. At least the kids got a taste of winter fishing.
