Barrski 23 Report post Posted March 3, 2018 I’m only posting this to get people’s thoughts it was on TB news of a hunter who was charged +$4000 for mistakenly shooting a cow when he had a. Bull tag. Unfortunately we do not have the facts so you don’t know if it was someone who shot a cow and got scared and self reported or if he accidentally shot a cow that was with a bull. Either way it shouldn’t have happened and I don’t want to defend the hunter. But several times when being checked by COs they remind people to hunt safe and make sure of ur animals but if you make a mistake call us and self report and penalty would be less. The fine seems similar to guys that have deliberately screwed up and got caught by CO. Just want to make sure the spread remains for self reporting, but usually the mistakes are cow/ calf issues Don’t know the facts, just like ur thoughts
naden 131 Report post Posted March 3, 2018 The 4000 amount also included a fine for shooting the moose on a road.
smokerscully1 16 Report post Posted March 3, 2018 The way I read the article he was charged with shooting down the black sturgeon road not for shooting the wrong moose. i remember when the black sturgeon road had a lot more traffic and shooting across it wasn’t a crime
