Guest MNR Report post Posted January 9, 2008 Yes, you can use a power auger on Hazelwood. Under the Revised Regulations of Ontario 1990, Regulation 113 (Lakehead Region) made pursuant to the Conservation Authorities Act, there is no restriction on the use of a power auger to fish through the ice at Hazelwood Lake. However, please be aware that no person is allowed to operate an all-terrain vehicle, an off-road vehicle or a motorized snow vehicle in the conservation area. Enforcement of the regulations at Hazelwood is done by the OPP and the superintendent of the conservation area. Hazelwood Lake Conservation Area is under the jurisdiction of the Lakehead Region Conservation Authority.
