Nipigon River Water level

Recommended Posts

Guest Pickle

Can anyone tell me how high or low the water level is on the Nipigon River? A photo on the site before the "Crash" showed it being well below the level of the launch below the Cameron Dam. I'm hoping to head out on Saturday but want to make sure the water has come up.

Hi Pickle

From my understanding the water level is back up. The draw down was for lamprey control.

Perfect! Thanks for the info!

I'm thinking of heading there on Sunday, there's a little derby being held on the river from what I've heard. So there might be allot of boat traffic this weekend.

Check the OPG website, they carry live updated water levels for the Nip. I don't have the link handy, sorry. River level is back up regardless, was there a few days ago.

BTW - What is the tournament going on this weekend? Salmon only?
