NWO 23 Report post Posted September 12, 2006 Thanks for the post George. As per our usual, despite the good finish, we struggled at times. Day one, the fishing was quite good, but we could only seem to boat smaller fish......culling 2.5 pounders all day. Day two was better......we branched out to new territory and got a few nice largies. Later in the day we revisted our usual spots and some big smallies were hanging around. So, a good 15 lb. day. Day three was misery for the most part......we didn't have a decent fish until just after the noon hour. The day turned around with a good smallie and a monster largie back-to-back. We rounded out the bag with some decent smallies and at the very end of the day another 4lb. largie graced us. For us it seemed the spots we rely on and enjoy fishing finally held big fish and paid off. For a couple out-of-towners with only one day a year to pre-fish, it was a good tournament. I may have a few pics later on...... Tom

Trevor Zimak 171 Report post Posted September 14, 2006 George, This is a tournament you got to check out. It's got the best three day format around and the tournament is a lot of fun. I am happy with where I ended up, but still know that we could have done better. My advice ..... when you bring a net, USE IT!!! Don't try and flip 3+lb fish into the boat. The bite was very tough for us in the afternoons. Over the course of three days we caught one fish after 12:30pm. The complete opposite of Tom and Kevin. Weird? See you at Labelle's George PS. were are you staying?
