Guest Bugs Bunny Report post Posted September 15, 2006 In your opinion, what do you look for in a fishing rod. I think I have graduated from the ugly stick. I need something with a little more back bone. What do you recomend? Also what length? I here longer is better, I'm talking fishing rods here boys! I'm thinking of a 7 foot walleye classic from fenwick. Anyone have experience with these rods? BB

speckmaster 114 Report post Posted September 15, 2006 I use a 7 ft Fenwick and I wouldn't use anything smaller for walleye unless I was fishing super shallow for small fish.
Guest Techwiz Report post Posted September 16, 2006 I recently gotten myself a set shimano crucial with the shimano curado baitcasting reel (Thanks for the recommendation from Al at Riverside Outdoors). I am very impressed with the crucial rod as I never touched any of my other rods in my last 2 outtings because the hook set is so much quicker even for the lightest bite and how much better I can control the fish during the fight using the shimano crucial.
