Some Old Guy 968 Report post Posted May 13, 2010 A Winnipeg man was fined $3,250 for purchasing Ontario resident licences to hunt moose. Albert Taylor pleaded guilty to making a false statement in a document to obtain a licence and to hunting moose without a licence. Court heard that in September 2007, Taylor moved from Ontario to Winnipeg, Manitoba. Taylor then used an Ottawa address for his Outdoors Card and continued to purchase Ontario resident hunting licences in 2008 and 2009. During the investigation, the officer discovered that Taylor had applied in the Ontario resident moose hunt draw and hunted in the area of the South Doreen Road near Ignace during the moose hunt in 2007 and 2008. Justice of the Peace Robert McNally heard the case in the Ontario Court of Justice, Kenora, on February 9, 2010. The Ministry of Natural Resources reminds hunters that as of January 1, 2009, non-resident hunters and anglers are required to have a non-resident Outdoors Card in order to purchase an Ontario fishing or hunting licence, except for a one-day fishing licence.
