Some Old Guy 968 Report post Posted March 12, 2007 I was just wondering if motor parts from a '72 Panther and a '77 Jag are interchangable? Anyone know? Roger Quote R.T.R. Respect the resource!

Some Old Guy 968 Report post Posted March 12, 2007 Thanks Arvey. The appear to be the same motors. Suzuki 339 cc. The clutches look different. On the 72 it's fan cooled and the 77 is air. I'll get to operate and see what I can slap together! Roger Quote R.T.R. Respect the resource!
eyelander 164 Report post Posted March 13, 2007 When you get it done, get someone to videotape you trying it out, for posterity( or is that evidence ), lol. Quote Prior Proper Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance
Some Old Guy 968 Report post Posted March 13, 2007 What? Diving it around or me actually pretending to be a small motor mechanic? Ha Ha! Roger Quote R.T.R. Respect the resource!
Guest Big Moose Report post Posted March 13, 2007 Hey Roger. Almost all the parts on those two sleds should be inter-changable they didn't change to many things in those years and if not they can usually be refabricated to fit depending on the parts you need.I'm pretty sure you could do a complete engine swap from free air to fan cooled from what I remember. As for the clutches on your motors one might be stock and the other might be after market I know on the mid to late 80's models lots of guys used polaris clutches.
