since the board has been kinda dry besides the shoutout box, i figured i would write this up to get away from spawning bows. Went up to sigh lake(off Anders lake road) yesterday.,a lake i had never fished for a species i had never fished. I started my day at spruce river rd, t loaded up atv with all my gear rode 20km in the Dorian then aired down the tires and strapped the chains on at anders lake rd. Dorian cutoff was full of mud and snow Anders lake rd just snow followed by deeper snow. I would not recommend ride to anyone for another 5 days or so. i needed 4x4 and 5000 rpm the whole way in. snow was heavy and even my winch got a workout. Fishing was good & I iced 7 splake in 2 hours, only took 3 home as the rest were under 12. They were all taken on minnows and what i can only assume is 100% pure skill. Was even fun to watch fish shoot off bottom like artillery fire towards my lure on my Eagle 320 P.The lake had a foot of solid ice followed by 6 inches of slush and 3 more inches of ice, close to shore had no bottom layer, and there was still 2 inches of snow on lake The trail was even worse on way out ,over an hour to get from lake back to Dorian as the afternoon sun reminded me i had rode in on snow as deep as 2 ft in places and now i was sinking.. hard as hell to winch an ATV onto its feet when its on its ear. my rear trunk saved me from flipping and rolling at a few river crossings with ice shelves to climb. awesome day, and cross one lake of list of new lakes to visit in 2011 pic shows my fist two of the day, 5mins after i hand plowed 1st hole, the tiny one is 12

Simple answer: yes you would be breaking the law. If the eggs came from one stream and were put in another that would be a couple of more charges.

That's a legitimate question. I'll try to explain as best I can. There is presently no one collecting eggs/milt from Steelhead in our area and for good reason. When the fishery is managed properly with size and harvest restrictions, there is no need for any human interference in salmonid reproduction. When the conditions are suitable the fish will do what has been ingrained in their DNA for hundreds of thousands of years and they do this very well. Stocking programs around the world are being canceled because fisheries managers are finally figuring out that these programs just do not work and in fact, most do more harm than good. I'm sure Mykiss can give you much more detail, but that is the gist of it. Bottom line is that we have an amazing, naturally reproducing wild steelhead fishery that is being properly managed and should be healthy for many years to come thanks to partnership programs between the OMNR and the NSSA and others.

I don't understand how SOMEONE ELSE posting about spots THEY are fishing is ruining YOUR secret sport that YOU have put x number of hours into finding over the last 20 years. None of the rivers around town have any secret spots on them. If your spot is so secret and you don't want anyone else ruining it, then don't tell anyone. Go stand there by yourself and have fun. Maybe if the self-aclaimed "diehards" spent more time fishing and less time trolling internet forums, there wouldn't be this issue year in and year out.
