they are easy to find on any decent electronics, i haven't tried them in june but do in july august. can be quite fun. they spawn in the fall so should have no business being anywhere near shallows in spring time with pike walleye spawning and feeding,

your sonar will return way more bottom area in deeper water, you dont want just one small hoop, there should be multiples, Also deeper water is typically structureless so any returns or marks on bottom could be fish
then jig for them.
try east shorelines with a steep drop, natural funnels or bays would be a good start id start in 35-40 fow then maybe try deeper, later in summer im fishing 90-100 fow
i don't use weights i have some big hair jigs i crimp on an additional small hook , or i use a heavy spoon inline as a flasher and tie a small hairt jig 1ft under spoon (remove hooks from spoon).
