Got skunked at the current today. The entire bottom of the current river is covered in suckers right now, but they don't seem interested at all in eating my bait. Sat my worm down in front of a schools face and watched them all ignore it. I ended up snagging two when I cast out in the middle of the river (unintentionally, and only 2 in a 4 hour trip), but didn't get them close enough to ID them. I also caught a metal cane that straightened my hook. I figured that was the sign I should probably try again on a different day.

Any bait shops open past 9pm tonight?😂 Last minute change of destination tomorrow morning and we want to leave before the bait shops will open. Thanks!

Good day all, if anyone is heading east east of tbay for the long weekend (and beyond) I recommend you to stop at Anita's bait on Hwy 11-17 (just before Hurkett loop) and grab some bait, ice and a bite to eat! There's a new grill shack opening up today at Anita's. Poutine, burgers and more! Help support the local community and get that extra energy to get ya out on the water! hope everyone has a safe and happy May long! cheers
