Get over it, most people wo grew up around Thunder Bay call walleye pickeral. If you called it walleye people thought you were an American.

Sure most people who grew up around thunderbay as I did aswell say that… but they are still wrong, just because they say it doesn’t make them right for saying it wrong for 50 years… look up in the regulations how many pickerel you can keep… 0 , Walleye is walleye there isn’t even an argument to be had. You are free to say and do as you wish I just have to correct it everytime I see or hear it.

Other seasons I can’t seem to locate in the regs: walter, Waldo, king salmon, steelhead, coaster, swamp donkey, eel pout, laker, brookie, looper, musky, gator, snake, hammer handle, smallie. Most things go by many names but the only “correct” name is sander vitreus

People went on Saturday night and said it was too early, will take a look early this week. Also Zach, hilarious joke! Only issue with it is according to Oxford "run: (of a migratory fish) go upriver from the sea in order to spawn". Now the real question is if smelt walk?

Our crew went to the MacKenzie River last night and dipped our nets for 2 hours between 10:30 and 12:30 or so. Total of about 4 dozen smelts was disappointing. Really slow - more of an ambling walk than a smelt run. 🙂 On our way back into town we swung by the Current River for a look see. We had seen pics on Facebook of full buckets taken from there last weekend. We were in luck last night as the run was still on! People were coming and going pretty quickly. In about 20 minutes we half filled our 5-gallon pail and the "just one more scoop" vs "you have to clean those you know" discussion was on. If you are thinking of going, the time is now. Cheers.

Показати, де раки зимують/ To show someone where the crayfish are spending the winter = to teach someone a lesson. (I will show you where the crayfish are spending the winter!) When someone tells you “Я тобі покажу, де раки зимують!” it is often a final warning.

And you can make wine out of the petals. My uncle did that once 40+ yrs. ago. I did try it, never tried it again, LOL!!

Been there, I ended up climbing the tree hanging over the river with a hatchet and vengeance on my mind.
