Hi everyone, I saw a news article saying ice anglers have caught trout on lake superior near Thunder Bay very recently (Jan 12), although ice is still rather thin I have not ice fished trout, nor fished lake superior, just want to know where it's safe to walk out on foot (map pls) and what depth one would target for trout, appreciate the input and wisdom thanks

Anyone been out to little trout bay ice fishing this season? Or even to check the ice? Thanks I’m advance for any info. I’m hoping to head out tomorrow, but just can’t decide what lake I wanna head to. Loved little trout last year for the easy access.

I made my take on "Ant Jigs" I dressed the larger series with hackle and tinsel on the tail. They were made with jig hooks, 3 different split shot sizes, powder painted, then painted highlights with nail polish great that I have 2 daughters so great selection, then clear coated. The white and pink are glow paint. The smaller jigs were made the same way I decided I am not going to dress and just use plastics or bait with them. my next set I am doing jigs with spinner blades, jig hooks and solder I'll post when finished a set.

Hey everyone ! I have my regular spots I go ice fishing in the wintertime but this weekend my wife is looking at getting out with me as well to try it out to see if she likes it. Most of the spots I go are an hour or so snowmobile ride in but seeing if anyone has any recommendations for easy access lakes I wouldn't have to go so far to get to it .. any suggestions appreciated !

Hi all, I'm going to be trying to catch whitefish through the ice for the first time this year. I've ice fished before but never for whitefish, just wondering about what baits and stuff that y'all use.

Is anyone willing to identify a productive perch area (other than Black Bay)? I'm looking for something accessible by road and preferably walk-able, though I do have a snow machine.

I've heard rumblings of a trophy lake trout fishery at Inspiration Lake. It's located just south of Armstrong and apparently is a local hotspot for 25lbs plus lunkers. Also heard the trail is potentially difficult to find and/or is not cut. Anyone have first hand knowledge of this lakes status? Also if any well equipped people want to venture out that way let me know cheers!

Hey all, Hello! I am a development researcher for a non-fiction television production company based in Toronto. We are developing a television show about the cold, fun and quirky world of ice fishing in Canada. We are looking for ice fishing families or friends with larger-than-life personalities. Are you intensely passionate about ice fishing? Get in touch! If you have an ice-fishing related business or side business, even better! Each episode will follow the hilarious antics of our ice fishers as they spend days on the ice, getting up to all sorts of shenanigans and maybe even catching some fish . We want to capture not only the spirit of ice fishing, but also the community atmosphere around the pastime. To find out more, please send us an e-mail telling us about your ice-fishing 'family' and why you are a great candidate for the show. Feel free to include photos of yourselves in action and any other information to help us understand why you are perfect for this show! I am happy to address any questions on the forum, so feel free to ask about the production! Contact: icefishingfamily@gmail.com
