Schwank 0 Report post Posted September 23, 2011 If I have a bull tag for the regular gun season, can I take that tag and hunt a calf in the archery season?
Guest MNR Report post Posted September 23, 2011 Yes, a hunter with a moose licence (validated for calf, or cow or bull in the gun season) can hunt calf in the archery only season as long as they hunt with archery equipment. If you applied in the draw and were successful for an adult archery tag, that tag is only valid for (bull or cow) in the archery season. It then becomes valid for calf only in the gun season. The same is true if you applied for an adult tag for the gun season and were successful. Your tag is only valid for an adult in the gun season but can be used for a calf in the archery season but you can only use archery equipment. You would be able to party hunt an adult in the archery season (using archery equipment) as long as someone in the party had a valid adult tag for archery and you were following the party hunting rules(see pg 23 in the 2011 Hunting Regulation Summary)...and the same is true if you didn't use your adult archery tag, you could then party hunt an adult in the gun season so long as someone in the group had a game seal for an adult for the gun season and you were following the party hunting rules. Once the gun season begins, you can use rifles, shotguns, Bows and Muzzle loading guns.
