Jessie lake regulation clarification

Recommended Posts

Guest Fish Life

I am a bit confused (maybe a bit slow) as to what the regulations are on jessie lake. I know the season is Feb 15.-Mar.15 for the ice fishing season, but what I am I allowed to use hook wise and bait wise ( are barbed trebles legal? and can I use minnows?). Thanks for the info.

You're getting Lake Nipigon (and tribs) confused with other parts of the Nipigon River system. In Jessie Lake barbed hooks and live bait may be used. Where there are size restrictions on a species of fish (eg Brook Trout minimum size of 56cm) barbless hooks are always the go, no matter what the regs say.
