Cougar killed in Muskoka, anyone ever seen one around here?

i seen a bobcat or lynx? at the mission marsh 2 summers ago....also seen a dead raccoon on the highway like 2 months ago

More raccoons are here every year. Wonder if they would actually survive on the marsh? Maybe too cold.

There are a bunch of different range maps on the web for raccoons, but almost all of them show the range well north of Lake Superior...some maps even show them as far north as Hudson Bay. I don't think raccoons would have any trouble with the cold here.

Came nose-to-furry nose pretty much with a big ornery raccoon sitting on top of my garbage can last summer in the middle of the night. I live up near the Lutheran church at Hilldale/Wardrope. The thing wouldn't move and just did that chittering thing at me! Finally wandered off out back. A neighbour said they had 4 of them walk through the yard one evening.

Haven't seen them this year.
