Guest cstclair Report post Posted July 29, 2012 Hey everyone Just seeing if anyone else heard or have seen the boat that went over the falls on northern lights lake last evening. We were out and they came by looking on how to get to the falls. Saw there friends on shore at 9pm when we came in. Apparently They spent the night. Saw a picture from another guy today with the boat stuck in the middle on rocks with water pouring over the bow. Hoping to have him email it to me and I would share it on here. But if anyone is looking for a parts boat or a half swamped 150 merc then have a look about 100ft down the falls. Anyone else have a photo please share! speckmaster 114 Report post Posted July 31, 2012 Looks like stupidity to me. Not sure why a boat that size would get that close. Or he didn't do his homework
Guest Eye Guy Report post Posted July 31, 2012 Looks like the motor is up and the trolling motor is down. 70 pounds of thrust can't compete with Mother Nature? IF (and I'm only concluding that based on the picture) that's the case, maybe not very smart. A good lesson for everyone.
McGinnis_Fishing 49 Report post Posted July 31, 2012 Thats such a nice boat too!
Guest cstclair Report post Posted July 31, 2012 They asked us for directions to the falls. Never thought they would go over! But they indeed were intoxicated. No jackets on either. And had to spend the night in the bush. Trolling motor was bent to crap. Had hit a few rocks on he way down.

WalleyeWayne 137 Report post Posted August 1, 2012 I suspect they were fishing the current and under-estimated the pull of the water and the strength of their trolling motor. It could and probably has happened to many others. Either way it's gonna be a costly mistake!
Guest Wes Report post Posted August 1, 2012 If they were drunk, then good! Not the least bit concerned for their safety or $ of recovery/repairs. I hope it is a total loss and insurance rejects their claim.Geez, I am mean sometimes...On the other hand, if there was no booze/drugs involved and it was just a mistake/accident then I have a different opinion more in their favour.

Guest cstclair Report post Posted August 2, 2012 As of yesterday the boat was still there. Ya think if they got the motor off it would come up outta the water enough to float the rest of the way down to the next lake. OR it it glass, so there is likely a hole in it by now!
