Swamp Buck 2012

Recommended Posts

Guest Slowey

I was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time and lay eyes on this beauty bad boy. Saturday November 17th at 8:30 a.m. I was walking in one of the new cuts in an area I haven't hunted in about 4 years. I was defiantly not expecting to see a deer let alone this bruiser in this particular area of the cut due to the swamp and muskeg all around me. I sent 2 down range while he was in full stride and managed to down him. He did a front flip due to momentum and then proceeded to get back to his feet and hit the bush line as if nothing happened. I heard him crash in the bush and knew he was running on borrowed time. I walked back to the truck, went back to camp to get the quads and some gear and went back in to collect my trophy. By far the biggest buck I have been lucky enough to set my scope on. His brow tines still had bark on them and the rest of his rack was covered in sap. He will now have the privilege of staring at my guests from his perch on the wall in the cabin.

Nice one. They like those areas for cover in bad weather and when the temp drops significantly.
