Has anyone ever found one of these?

This photo was taken out on superior during a period of low water conditions.

The gravel was swept aside to show the whole formation in the bedrock , the photo was taken while standing on a step ladder to allow a full shot as it was too large to get without added height.

We have been told it is refered to as a "medicine wheel" , it may have a great significance to first nations people , I'm not sure.

Anyone else here find a natural formation like this?

I think it looks pretty cool and wonder how somthing like it even occurs?
