Guest fancy pants Report post Posted September 16, 2013 Anyone know of a good book, paper or thesis that highlights which mushrooms to pick and which ones to avoid in our area? This is something that I have become quite interested in lately. Also, would love to hear people's tips. Thanks
Guest FreshwaterFisherman Report post Posted September 16, 2013 This is one book I've used. When doing helicopter work in the north I always had a plant book, a mushroom book, and a tree book.

Guest cmcrawfo Report post Posted September 17, 2013 ...so how do I find the "magic" ones?
Guest FreshwaterFisherman Report post Posted September 17, 2013 The mushroom from Alice in wonderland and Mario can be found all over town. The fly agaric, ( amanita muscaria ) has been used as a ritualistic aid for thousands of years. Large yellow or red cap with white warts on it. Lots at the college. But I don't suggest you take the chance of eating poisonous mushrooms.
