Guest Slowey Report post Posted September 23, 2013 I am wondering if there is anything that can be done if someone is blocking a road that has 100's of acres of hunting land behind it all on crown land. There has been a shelter set up that blocks the entire road where the old road went to a bridge that has been removed.
Guest MNR Report post Posted September 24, 2013 Public roads cannot be blocked without authority. Where a hunting party has established a camp where there is little room for any other hunters in the crown land area beyond the camp, it becomes more of a hunting ethic problem and one that Conservation Officers prefer that hunters settle ameably on their own. Officers are extremely busy at this time of year.Respect private property. It is an offence to interfere with lawful hunting, trapping or fishing by,(a) tampering with traps, nets, bait, firearms or any other thing used for hunting, trapping or fishing;( placing oneself in a position, for the purpose of interfering, that hinders or prevents hunting, trapping or fishing; or© engaging in an activity, for the purpose of interfering, that disturbs or is likely to disturb wildlife or fish.If you are reluctant to confront someone who is blocking a public road, get a licence plate number and contact our TIPS line at 1-877-TIPS-MNR (1-877-847-7667). Be prepared to give an exact location and description of vehicles, people and any conversation preventing you access.
